When you write, please include the following information:

  • How many bedrooms you'd need.
  • What kind of sleeping setup you're looking for (i.e. couples, single guys, etc.).
  • An approximate budget (which may be based on the prices below).
  • And, most importantly of all, in order to eliminate confusion when you're talking about dates, please use the terms CHECK-IN and CHECK-OUT!

ED'S PLACE: CENTRO HISTÓRICO PHOTOS

Three bedrooms occupying the entire floor of a building in Salvador's Centro Histórico. This place has a beautiful view of the bay and couldn't be more ideally located. The church in the photo above had a central role in the film "O Pagador de Promessas" (winner of the Palm d'Or at Cannes in 1962).

The apartment's owner, Edward, is an American architect who has been living in Bahia for the last thirty years and who works all over the world.

OCEANIA I: Barra PHOTOS

This is a three-bedroom apartment in Salvador's first "highrise" apartment building, the Art Deco Edifício Oceania.

The apartment sits directly across the street from the Farol ("Lighthouse") da Barra, at the tip of the peninsula upon which the city of Salvador is located.  The Barra - Ondina Carnival circuit starts here (the streets below swirl with Carnival-goers), and Gilberto Gil's yearly Carnival party is broadcast live from the front of the building.

Barra is at the tip of the peninsula on which Salvador is located. Moving away from Barra along the Atlantic Ocean side of the peninsula brings one to Ondina, and moving away from Barra along the Bay of All Saints side of the peninsula brings one (after passing through Vitória) to Campo Grande.
