Hotel Encanto de Itapoan is located at the Farol ("Lighthouse") de Itapoan (here denoted by the alternative spelling "Itapuã). We are right in the midst of Salvador's best beaches, and we consider our position on the map to be our greatest virtue.
We are 25 meters away from the protected waters of the beach at Itapoan, an area which is one of the most traditional in Salvador. Itapoan was home to writer Jorge Amado, painter Carlos Bastos, and musician Dorival Caymmi, among others. It was the inspiration for one of poet/musician Vinicius de Moraes' most beautiful compositions.
We are ten minutes away from the airport (12 km) and 15 minutes away from the entertainment complex in the Aeroclube Plaza Show (17 km). Misture Fina, the restaurant which won Veja Magazine's First Prize for the best seafood in Bahia (for the past three years running), is just around the corner.
We are located right between Salvador's Centro Histórico (35 minutes away by taxi, at 15 US dollars) and the marvelous beaches of Bahia's Coast of Miracles, stretched out along the Estrada de Coco (Coconut Highway) and the Linha Verde (Green Line), including the unknown (to foreigners) beach of Barra do Jacuípe and the famous village of Praia do Forte (45 minutes away, with its ecological reserve and sea turtle preservation project).
Night spot Casquinha de Siri, with its live music and dancing, is ten minutes away. The French Quartier Café, featuring live Bossa Nova, Jazz, and Blues, is twenty minutes away. Right down the street we have night spots Jangada and Língua de Prata, with live music and a very local flavor.
We also suggest renting a car as a convenient way to get around (40 US dollars per day), enabling visitors to partake at their own leisure of the multitude of things to see and do both in Salvador and up the coast.
And then it's back to the perfect home base for all of this: Encanto de Itapoan! |
