Hotel Redfish is a lovely hotel ("pousada" strictly speaking) situated in the Historical Centre of Salvador da Bahia, on a residential street connecting Pelourinho (old Colonial Salvador, with its nightlife and culture) and the Largo do Santo Antonio (a pleasant square with a colonial-era fort and church and a great view of the bay).  Pelourinho is a five minute walk (ten minute stroll) away.

The establishment is dutifully run under the close direction of my staff and myself (Charles Butler, of London), and as my "true" vocation is art, the pousada is hung with my works and was, moreover, built with a sizable gallery for both my paintings and those of others. As to the physical features of the establishment, the edifice was completely refurbished several years ago in such a manner as to retain as many original features as possible, with spacious, light, airy and well-appointed rooms.

The top floor apartments (our "luxury" rooms) have large terraces with great views (the front apartment terrace looks out over the bay), comfy hammocks, air-conditioning, American King-Size beds, and broadband internet access. The apartments one-floor below (our "standard" rooms) are capacious and have either French windows or a balcony, both ceiling fans and silent air-conditioning, and European King-Size (American Queen-Size) beds. All of our rooms are equipped with telephones, frigobars, and spacious, impeccably spotless modern bathrooms. Fax sevice is provided, and a good breakfast is included in our prices.

We strive to see that our guests enjoy to the fullest their stay in Salvador, and advice on where to visit and what beaches to hang out on will be willingly dispensed. Salvador is a city which offers something for everybody, from world-class tropical beaches to colonial splendor to a thrilling nightlife and the biggest Carnival in the world. Visitors nearly always fall in love with the place.
