Dear Octacilio and Janet,

We had a wonderful stay at the Pousada. We especially enjoyed the beach, the ocean and the tide pools. Ricardo and Andy enjoyed hunting for shrimps, crabs and fish in pools. We'd recommend encouraging people to snorkel the racky outcrop at low tide. There are plenty of creatures (moray eels, crabs, french angelfish, damsels, tangs and shrimp) to see. Libby enjoyed the birds in the courtyard especially the hummingbird. The caipirinhas, especially the caipirinhas with pineapple instead of lime, were excellent! Can't wait to come back! If you're ever in Florida, drop us an e-mail.

I have attached a few fish that we saw while snorkeling.

Juvenile French Angel Fish were common

Beau-Gregory Damsel Fish were very common

Seagent Major Damsel Fish were common

Juvenile Jeweled Damsel Fish are very common. (This is not the best picture, they glow blue)

Blue Tangs

Coney Grouper (very small, 6cm)

Cubbyu Juvenile

Cardinalfish (These guys are in huge schools (1000 fish) riding back and forth in the wave surge in .5 meter of water.  That was really cool.

Flame Cardinalfish

Squirrelfish

Morray Eel

Serpent Star Fish (out at night time or in the early evening)

Red Leg Hermit Crab

Well that should give you a start, I hope this helps.  You know you, should get wet yourself some time and enjoy all the sights, your tidepools are really quite amazing and I would make sure you try to have them made a park or area of concern so that they are protected from collection or other harm.  You might be able to go to a dive shop and get a plate or scroll that has most of these fish and inverts on it so people can take it with them snorkeling, this will help with identification for your guest.
